Sunday Mornings at 9:30 - 10:30 am
We want you to know that we live out our beliefs, which are to
• Reach families
• Serve families
• Disciple families
• Mobilize families
We also believe that one of the best ways to do that in a church our size is to organize people into small groups, which we call “Sunday School”. Regardless of your walk in life, there is a place for you! We have Sunday School classes for all ages from preschool to senior adults.
We know that Jesus breathed into small groups of seventy (Luke 10), chose twelve disciples whom He spent tons of time with, had an inner circle of three (Peter, James, and John), and even had one disciple whom He called the “Beloved”. (John) Here at First Baptist Homer you will find a Sunday School class that fits into the Biblical example of small groups!
Helping us to OBSERVE HIS COMMANDS, this ministry provides our church family and the community the opportunity to further their spiritual growth by offering various courses throughout the year. Our goal is to equip you to have a vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to help you be the best you can be for Jesus.
Recent Courses include:
- The Battle Plan for Prayer
- Called to Be Holy
- Purpose Driven Life
- SHAPE - Discovering Spiritual Gifts
- Your Legacy by James Dobson
- The Story of Jesus
The Adult Choir leads in worship each Sunday morning and is open to anyone who enjoys praising our Risen Savior. Our choir practices Wednesday nights at 7:15 in the auditorium and is led by Joey White, our Minister of Music.
Senior Adult Ministry
We believe that senior adults are a very special and honored group in our church. This ministry exists to make them feel special as well as help them further their relationship with God.
This men's ministry provides a great outreach into our community through annual events such as our 9/11 Banquet and our Wild Game Supper.
Prayer Shawl Ministry
Prayer shawl volunteers meet on the second Sunday of each month to knit and crochet beautiful shawls for people who are in need of healing and people who are hurting. Shawls are also given for appreciation or recognition, and on occasions of rejouicing.
If you would like to be a part of this ministry, please call the church office.
